Anyway, even if it will probably burst like a soap bubble, I'll continue to work on it, so let me explain the flight plain:
The next small update (1.6.1)
Some people wrote to me and complained about the store being a little bit unclear, so Asduffo decided that, probably this weekend, will release an update that will improve the store's UI to make clearer the nature of the purchasable product, what gets unlocked in the level editor and what doesn't.
Will it come out on iOS?
A guy mailed me this simple question. The simple answer is: I'd wish too, since iOS is well known to developers for having a much bigger revenue than android. Unfortunately Asduffo is not rich and Asduffo can't afford a MAC (even an used mac mini), an Apple license (99$ per year is such a big deal uh...) and an old iPhone/iPad for testing purposes. There are 2 big alternatives if you want to make Asduffo richer enough to afford so much stuff:
- A kickstarter campaign: if you think i should do a kickstarter campaign for the iOS porting mail me, let me know in the comments of this post,or comment somewhere such as my twitter/youtube account, ok?
- Download, install and open apps (and immediately disinstall if you want) by clicking in the ads in Doodle Adventures, or purchase something from its store
The 2.0 update
I'm already working to the 2.0 update. It will include many things, some of them are:
- Game rewritten from scratch! Doodle Adventures have been a bit unlucky: made with unity3d, which is a great engine, it started as a small project when the engine was at his 4.1 version, but the big work was made with unity 4.2. When the 4.3 version was released, with all the 2D tools, the development was really advanced, so I couldn't just convert it at that point (and I'm saying this because I tried. Exactly 4 times (I still have the backup files)). And when the 4.6 version were shipped with all his cool UI tools, the game was almost done!
Also I have to say that this game grow up with my programming skills, and since the core of the game was made when I was barely 16, I have to say that even if it works, it could be much batter than that. Watching some code in the UIs, it reminds me an old satirical image of an old italian government:
- More levels! I put to myself a target of 200 levels. This also means much more game mechanics and items!
- A better UI! From the selection menu to the game, nothing will sucks
- Better editor! Easier to use, with much more items and options!
- Revisioned english. I promise.
And much more. The big problem is that
It will take a long while, and yet I don't know how much. In the mean time, if i feel to do it, i'll relase in my twitter account some new levels made with the editor, so be sure to follow me. Also use the hashtag #DoodleAdventures to share yours: i'm really looking forward to play them, really!
I'm sorry for this little inconvenience, but as i said before, I have to do all from myself, and I'm just an high school student. So, as my future superior says:
Regards, Asduffo.
